Effective tomorrow, an Australian law makes it a crime to employ illegal aliens.
Minster (sic) for Immigration and Citizenship Kevin Andrews said people convicted will face fines of up to $13,200 and two years' imprisonment and companies will face fines of up to $66,000 per illegal worker with higher penalties for cases of exploitation, such as slavery, forced labour or sexual servitude.A potential two years in the slammer will surely get employers' attention.
Funny, but I don't recall any incidents of the usual leftist noisemakers crying racism about the new laws nor any mournful pleas about families suffering. Where's the worldwide outrage at this blatant violation of human rights?
After all, they're just doing jobs that regular Australian citizens won't do.
