(Perth, New York) In September 2007, 32-year-old teacher Elizabeth Munn was arrested for allegedly engaging in sex with a 15-year-old male student. (see below)
This week, Munn, a married mother-of-two, pleaded guilty to rape of the 15-year-old in accordance with a plea agreement and was sentenced to six months in jail and 10 years' probation. Munn was also ordered to register as a sex offender.
Munn has resigned her teaching position and surrendered her teaching license.

(Perth, New York) A 32-year-old social studies teacher for the Broadalbin-Perth School District, Elizabeth Munn, was arrested Tuesday for allegedly engaging in sex with an eighth-grade 15-year-old male student. Munn faces one charge of statutory rape.
Fulton County District Attorney Louise Sira said that Munn admitted to the relationship with the student.
According to School Superintendent Sally Rojek, Munn has worked for the district for five years and demonstrated competency. The arrest came as a complete surprise. Munn has been placed on paid leave while police continue investigating.
Munn was taken into custody at the Fulton County Correctional Facility with bail set at $25,000. A court appearance has been scheduled for October 1st in Perth Town Court.
