Woman Caught Muling Dope into Prison

(Daytona Beach, Florida) A 43-year-old woman, Robin Adkins, was arrested last Sunday after being caught trying to smuggle two condoms of marijuana to her husband inside the Tomoka Correctional Institution, according to sheriff's office spokesman Gary Davidson.

Adkins was visiting her husband then and acting suspicious when she went to the bathroom. When she exited the restroom she was walking slowly with her arms clutched to her waist, Davidson said.

When she sat back down with her husband, officers said she appeared to be trying to remove something from the waistband of her pants. That's when officers escorted her out of the visiting area and took her to a search room, Davidson said.

Officers found 65 grams of marijuana on Adkins. She was charged with possession of marijuana over 20 grams and introduction of contraband into a correctional facility.

Adkins was booked into custody at the Volusia County Correctional Facility and released on $3,500 bail.
