Big Meat Pounded in Arkansas

(Booneville, Arkansas) A large, out-of-control fire yesterday afternoon completely burned down the Cargill Beef Packing Plant in Logan County.

About 200 people were evacuated from the surrounding area. No injuries have been reported as the blaze was allowed to burn itself out.

The fire possibly started from lack of awareness during some welding activities by contracted help.

The plant employed about 800 people who have been notified to not come to work. A decision to rebuild the plant, Booneville's largest employer, has not yet been made.
