NY Woman Gets Jail for Sex with Boy

(Auburn, New York) Twenty-two-year-old Lisa Curcie was sentenced by Judge Fandrich today in Cayuga County Court to six months in jail and 10 years probation for engaging in sex with a 14-year-old boy.

Curcie's lawyer, Dennis Sedor, had asked for leniency since she suffered from chronic depression and she has two children.
Fandrich said that while he was mindful of Curcie's parental obligations, he would not impose a lesser sentence.

"The crime here in respect to you having sexual relations when you were 21 and the victim was 14 or 15 (years old) cannot go unpunished," Fandrich said.
According to the Cayuga County DA Jon Budelmann, Curcie was taken in by the boy's family as a gesture of charity and compassion. In return, she started doing the 14-year-old. When the father learned of the sexual relationship, he kicked Curcie out of the house. Undeterred, however, Curcie continued to have sex with the boy.
When given a chance to address the court, Curcie cried as she apologized for her actions.

"I just want to say that I am sorry for what I have done and that I have two children I have to take care of," Curcie said. "I promise it will never happen again."
Interestingly, Curcie's children are a five-year-old daughter and a five-month-old boy. Since no paternity test has been performed, it's unknown exactly who the baby boy's father is.

She was booked into the Cayuga County Jail with bond set at $2,000. Curcie has been ordered to have no contact with the victim.
