(Grayslake, Illinois) A 41-year-old counselor at Alternative Behavior Treatment Center, Noelle Howlett, has been accused of engaging in sex with a 16-year-old boy she was counseling. This week, Howlett was charged with five counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault.
According to state’s attorney spokesman Stephen Scheller:
Howlett made plans to meet the teen, who lived in Chicago, at the train station in Libertyville on Saturday. From there, the two allegedly had sex in Howlett's car and then back at her home, he said.Howlett was booked into custody at the Lake County Jail with bond set at $50,000. A court appearance is scheduled for November 10.
When the teen returned home Sunday, the teen's father demanded to know where he had been, Scheller said. Scheller said the teen first made up a story, but then said he had been having sex with Howlett.
The father called authorities, and Scheller said Howlett admitted the sex acts when confronted by law enforcement. She was arrested at her home without incident, he said.
