Family Accused of Cremating Mom on BBQ

(Corning, California) Relatives of 84-year-old Ramona Allmond are accused of cremating her dead body on the backyard barbecue while continuing to collect her retirement checks. It's believed Ramona Allmond died last December of natural causes.

The dead woman's daughter, Kathleen Allmond, 50, and grandson, Tony Ray, 30, were arrested and charged with elder abuse, disposing of a body without a permit and suspicion of embezzlement. It's estimated that the daughter and grandson collected more than $25,000 from Allmond's retirement funds.

The two were booked into custody without bail.
