Pelosi Gives Obama Marching Orders

Earlier this week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi conveyed the message to President-elect Barack Obama of just what she expects from him and his White House staff.

Pelosi's parameters for Obama include:

[N]o surprises or end-runs around her to cut legislative deals with moderate New Democrats or conservative Blue Dog Democrats, and details of talks the incoming administration has with any rank-and-file Democrats.

Reportedly, there already is tension between congressional Democrats and Obama's people and Pelosi wants to avoid being blindsided by the administration.

Illustrating her intensity, here's a file photo of Nancy Pelosi demonstrating the unofficial testicular inducement grip, a motivator she is rumored to use regularly on noncompliant Democrats. It's speculated that Obama will be wary.
