VA Woman Guilty in Boy Sex Case

(Staunton, Virginia) A 27-year-old woman, Latasha Rexrode, accepted a plea deal offered by Augusta County prosecutors and pleaded guilty to three counts of carnal knowledge without force involving a 14-year-old boy.

Rexrode was originally arrested in May 2008 and indicted in October for the offenses occurring in the summer of 2007.
In a plea agreement with the Augusta County prosecutor’s office, a fourth charge of taking indecent liberties with a child was not prosecuted in exchange for the guilty pleas.

Rexrode faces the possibility of 30 years in prison, but Augusta County assistant prosecutor John Reed said Virginia’s recommended sentencing guidelines call for a sentence of anywhere from one year and nine months to five years behind bars.

Reed said Rexrode and the boy engaged in sex on several occasions in the summer of 2007 at the boy’s family’s home on Calf Pasture Highway just north of Waynesboro. Reed said the boy was “a family friend” of Rexrode’s.
Sentencing is scheduled for March 26. Meanwhile, Rexrode is free on bond.

Notably, Rexrode is pregnant and due in April. The boy victim reportedly is not the father.
