Marilyn Chambers 1952 - 2009

(Los Angeles, California) Adult film star Marilyn Chambers was found dead Sunday at her home in Canyon Country, a suburb of Los Angeles.

An autopsy failed to determine the cause of death, however, additional testing will be conducted. Chambers was 56 years old.

Chambers was born Marilyn Ann Briggs in Providence, Rhode Island, on April 22, 1952. She was raised in Westport, Connecticut, and pursued a modeling career after high school.

In 1970, Chambers went to Los Angeles seeking modeling and acting jobs. Proctor & Gamble picked her to be the Ivory Snow girl with her and a baby appearing on the soap box with the caption "99 & 44/100% pure."

In 1971, Chambers landed in San Francisco where she entered the adult film business. Her breakout performance in Behind the Green Door gave her wide exposure due in large part to the fact that she was the Ivory Snow girl. Proctor & Gamble immediately canceled her contract.

Subsequently, she devoted herself to being naughty in front of cameras for decades. Many American males around during the 70s, 80s and 90s are likely familiar with Chambers' dramatic talents.

Chambers death at a relatively-premature age has been reported as probably natural causes. I'm skeptical.
