Wyoming Counselor Guilty of Sex with Boy

(Cheyenne, Wyoming) In October 2008, a 32-year-old female counselor at the Cathedral Home in Laramie, Katie Joseph, was arrested for allegedly engaging in sex with a 17-year-old boy at the home. She was initially charged with second-degree sexual assault of a minor.

Joseph was a counselor at Cathedral Home, a facility for troubled and traumatized youth, including youth who are hard of hearing.

An affidavit says the relationship between the counselor and the boy began in March 2008 and continued into June.

On Monday of this week, Joseph pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of third-degree sexual assault in accordance with a plea deal. No sentencing date has been set.
