Colorado Teacher Gets No Jail in Sex Case

(Denver, Colorado) In November 2008, English teacher Melissa Snow, 27, was arrested for the alleged sexual assault of a male student. She was booked, released on bond, and the school system placed her on administrative leave.

Yesterday, Melissa Snow was sentenced to eight years of probation. Snow had pleaded guilty to felony attempted sexual assault earlier this year.
Snow had been an English teacher at Sheridan High School since 2005, according to the school district.

Under the terms of the probation, Snow will not be able to have contact with anyone under the age of 18 unless approved by her probation officer.

She also must keep a full-time job, complete a victim empathy course and register as a sex offender, according to the District Attorney's office.
The age of her victim was not released.
