Babysitter Gets No Jail for Sex with Boy

(Syracuse, New York) In the summer of 2008, local babysitter Nicole Marlow was accused of engaging in sex with a 14-year-old boy she was caring for. The boy's mother initially alerted authorities after she saw electronic messages from Marlow to the boy which referenced the sex.

Subsequently, Nicole Marlow, 28, pleaded guilty to a felony criminal sexual act and, yesterday, she was sentenced to 10 years of probation.

Marlow will have to register as a convicted sex offender and is likely to be rated a Level 2 offender as a moderate risk to offend again, according to the judge.

Also sentenced yesterday was Marlow's boyfriend, Christopher Roher, 31, who received three years of probation for endangering the welfare of a child. Reportedly, Roher was in the room observing Marlow engaging in sex with the boy.
