(Murfreesboro, Tennessee) In February 2009, a 45-year-old medical assistant, Brenda M. Strahan, was indicted on four counts of statutory rape of a 17-year-old male student who attended Blackman High School.
Investigators found that she had performed oral sex on the teen a number of times throughout 2007 and 2008.
In September, Strahan pleaded guilty to statutory rape and was sentenced to probation.
Strahan entered a plea with the district attorney Sept. 30, admitting to two counts of aggravated statutory rape. She was granted diversion on those charges, meaning she won’t serve time behind bars, while two other charges of statutory rape were dropped. So, blah -- blah -- blah, she walks.
Strahan will be on probation for eight years and during that time she’ll be in the state’s sex offender database. She’ll have pay the $500 sex offender tax to be placed in that database as well, according to court documents.
She will also “submit to a psychosexual (evaluation) and follow any recommendations” made by a therapist, her plea agreement read. “She will be subject to the (state’s) sex (offender) directives and will comply with the requirements.”
The plea agreement also states that Strahan “will have no contact with her victims by any means whatsoever, including through third parties” and “will not go to the victim’s place of employment.”
