Teacher Gets No Jail in Sex Case - Updated

(Hillsdale, Michigan) Thirty-seven-year-old former history teacher at Camden-Frontier High School, Dawn Schwartzengraber, has accepted the terms of a plea agreement which specifies that she receive no jail.

However, Schwartzengraber was ordered to register as a sex offender for 25 years.
Instead of standing trial in the circuit court on Jan. 25 for two felony counts of criminal sexual conduct, Dawn Schwartzengraber, 37, agreed to plead guilty to 4th degree criminal sexual conduct in a lower court.

Authorities said Schwartzen-graber carried on a relationship with a 15-year-old student at Camden-Frontier High School.

The student's name has been withheld.

The trial was delayed twice, once on Sept. 8 because jury notices had not been sent on time, and again on Nov. 3 because a minimum number of jurors without a definitive bias could not be found.
Interestingly, inattention to detail appears to confound the Hillsdale Court system.
