Teacher Accused of Hitting Student

(Gastonia, North Carolina) A 31-year-old preschool teacher at the Rankin Head Start Center, Kizzy Clark Corry, has been accused of hitting a 5-year-old girl and shutting her in a closet. The girl told her mommy that the teacher was mean. Mommy alerted authorities.

Corry was arrested Wednesday and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

The charge applies when a person 16 or older knowingly “caused, encouraged and aid(ed) a juvenile to be in a place and be in a condition whereby that juvenile could be adjudicated abused and/or neglected.”

Corry was booked into custody at the Gaston County Jail and released on $500 bond.
