Sex Charges Against Teacher Dismissed - Updated

(Santa Cruz, California) In June 2010, Pajaro Valley High School teacher Tanya Thienngern was arrested for multiple sex crimes involving male students.

In September, teacher Tanya Thienngern was hit by a taxi while walking in San Francisco, sustaining serious injuries.

This week, all charges against Thienngern were dismissed.
Prosecutor Andrew Isaac said the District Attorney's Office checked with her physicians and others and believes it is unlikely she will be able to face the charges. Plus, he said, the young man who allegedly had the affair with her didn't want to come to court.

"As the court pointed out, essentially, what's been done to her is far out of proportion to the allegations," Isaac said. "There is no reason for it to sit on the court's calendar. She's in God's hands now." If she does have a medical turnaround, the charges could be filed again, he added.
Therefore, at some ill-defined level of infirmity, people become non-prosecutable.
