Rat Allegedly Bites Inmate's Penis



(Long Island, New York) In 2007, a 54-year-old Nassau County man, Peter Solomon, was arrested for menacing his wife and jailed when a rat entered his trouser and bit his manhood.

Solomon claims the jail is infested with rodents and the jail officials know it.

According to court documents, Solomon claims at night a rat "or similar rodent" emerged from a hole in his mattress and bit him on the penis and hand, drawing blood.

Solomon sued for damages saying the jail was indifferent to his treatment and weren’t concerned with the rodent problem.

Jail officials deny that there is a rodent problem and claim they are exempt from lawsuits. Nevertheless, on Wednesday a federal judge ruled that Solomon's lawsuit can proceed.
