Woman Accused of Stealing $500K from In-Laws

(Brooksville, Florida) A 42-year-old woman, Jennifer Dennison, has been arrested for allegedly stealing more than $500,000 from her in-laws to support a losing gambling habit.

The alleged theft was exposed when a check to the dentist bounced.

Investigators found that Dennison had completely depleted the assets of Laverne Robert Dennison, 88, and Janet A. Dennison, 73, over a period of two years. Accounts left empty included savings and checking, CDs, annuities, life insurance and retirement funds.

Dennison faces charges of exploitation of the elderly, organized scheme to defraud, forgery of checks and uttering forged checks.

She was booked in to custody at the Hernando County Detention Center with bail set at $64,000.
