Rear of the Year

(London, England) Television personality Carol Vorderman, 50, has won the female Rear of the Year award by gathering the most votes in a worldwide competition sponsored by Wizard Jeans.

According to a spokesperson for Wizard Jeans, Vorderman's posterior is "a celebration of a woman's body at the peak of its beauty."

However, another contestant created a lot of buzz, deserving honorable mention.

Speculation was that 27-year-old Pippa Middleton, sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, could win the award after bursting on the scene as the maid of honor in the April 29th royal wedding. Although hundreds of millions of people worldwide became aware of Pippa's pulchritudinous figure, she unfortunately had less than six weeks to gather votes.

By the way, there also was a male recipient of the Rear of the Year award, arguably of interest only to those who like mayonnaise on their hot dogs. I prefer mustard.
