Indiana Woman Seeks Plea Deal in Sex Case

(Winchester, Indiana) In May 2011, a 20-year-old Ridgeville woman, Shandi Rae Reed, was arrested for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy.

Reportedly, Reed climbed on top of the boy and he couldn't move due to her heft.

Reed, who has a storied history with local law enforcers, was initially charged with criminal deviate conduct and sexual misconduct with a minor. Later, a criminal confinement charge was added.

Meanwhile, a plea agreement imposing an 18-month sentence was proposed to Jay Circuit Court Judge Jay Toner.
The terms of the proposed plea agreement, taken under advisement by Jay Circuit Court Judge Jay Toney, were not available last week.

The confinement charge was filed Dec. 19, the same day the plea agreement was filed in court, and the day Reed entered the tentative guilty plea.

If Toney accepts the deal, the Ridgeville woman will be sentenced Feb. 1.
It has been suggested that Reed has mental health issues. She also reportedly faces related charges in another jurisdiction.
