Dakota Woman Guilty of Raping Boy - Update
(Rapid City, South Dakota) April Solles has pleaded guilty by reason of mental illness to the videotaped rape of a 14-year-old boy.
Solles admitted to charges of fourth-degree rape of a minor and sexual contact with a minor.
Solles, 29, was suffering from depression at the time of the incidents in mid-2011, according to a psychiatrist for the state and defense attorney Paul Winter. The depression influenced her actions, Winter said.Sentencing is scheduled for September 23.
The case started unfolding late in 2011 when Solles' 1-year-old girl died of a head injury. A 14-year-old boy was charged with murder in juvenile court but authorities have not said if he is the same boy in the rape case.

(Rapid City, South Dakota) A 28-year-old local woman, April Solles, has been accused of engaging in sex with a 14-year-old boy and videotaping the episode(s).
Solles faces charges of rape and sexual contact with a child under 16 and production of child pornography.
Authorities say the complicated case began unfolding late last year after Solles' 1-year-old girl died from a head injury. A 14-year-old boy is charged in juvenile court with second-degree murder in the death.Solles is in custody at the Pennington County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
Prosecutors haven't said if he is the same boy connected with the rape case.
