Utah Teacher Pleads Guilty in Sexting Case

After a lengthy case, a former middle-school teacher pleaded guilty to charges involving the trading of explicit photos with a student.

Liza-Anne Roberts appeared in the 2nd District Court of Ogden to plead guilty to reduced charges of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor and dealing harmful materials to a minor. Both are 3rd degree felonies that carry the potential for zero to five years in prison.

The 28-year-old woman was a teacher for Mound Fort Junior High School and in 2012 was accused with having a relationship with a 14-year-old boy who was in her class.
Details on sentencing were not reported.

(Ogden, Utah) A 26-year-old teacher formerly at Mound Fort Junior High School, Liza-Anne Roberts, has been accused of sexually exploiting a 14-year-old male student.

Roberts faces charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and dealing in harmful material to a minor.
Officers executed a search warrant and confirmed that partially nude photos were transmitted back and forth between two phones, which were both owned by Roberts.

Ogden School District spokeswoman Donna Corby said the Mound Fort principal received “a concern regarding a teacher” on Oct. 21.
Roberts was booked into custody at the Weber County Jail.
