Montana Woman Accused of Driving Over Cop

(Missoula, Montana) A 47-year-old local woman, Dawnette Jean Eaton, has been arrested for violating probation, escape, leaving the scene of an accident where a person was seriously injured and assault with a weapon.

Eaton faces felony charges of evading arrest and running over a Missoula Police Officer Deni Poling with her car.

Missoula County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jason Johnson says they are still investigating the incident.

"We still need to talk to a couple of people who were directly involved in helping Eaton that evening. But if anybody has information that would help the investigation, we sure like to hear from them," Johnson commented.

He added that Poling is in stable condition and is still recovering from her injuries in the Intensive Care Until at St. Patrick Hospital.

Eaton was booked into custody with bond set at $400,000.
