Pennsylvania Woman Accused of Sex Abuse of Boy, 9

(Reading, Pennsylvania) A 19-year-old local babysitter, Jalissa Destinee Baez, has been accused of sexually abusing a 9-year-old boy.

Baez faces charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors and indecent exposure.

According to detectives with the district attorney’s child abuse unit, the abuse was initially reported to city police who were told the child suffered the abuse at Baez’s hands at a home in the 200 block of Pear Street. The child’s father was working at the time of the assaults, police said.

Police said the abuse occurred between March and June of 2012 at the father’s home.

Baez was booked into custody. She awaits arraignment.
