Florida Teacher Accused of Child Abuse

(West Palm Beach, Florida) A 48-year-old Head Start teacher, Dorothy Kelly, has been accused of child abuse and false imprisonment of a child under 13.

A parent went to the Head Start Center to alert school administrators after noticing bruises on a girl's legs.

While there, administrators reviewed video that showed Kelly "forcefully" placing the girl in the bathroom alone, and blocking her from leaving. The report said Kelly left the child in the dark bathroom for 51 minutes.

The report said another video showed Kelly leaving the child in the bathroom alone an hour and 20 minutes. No other children were videotaped being placed in the bathroom.

Kelly surrendered to authorities on Sunday.
