Mississippi Teacher Accused of Sex with Girl, 15

(Hancock County, Mississippi) A 31-year-old coach and teacher formerly at Hancock High School, Leslie Danielle Dewitt, has been accused of engaging in sex with a 16-year-old girl.

Dewitt faces three counts of sexual battery. According to Sheriff Ricky Adam,

The arrest came after an extensive investigation of a complaint alleging Dewitt was in a position of trust or authority when the sexual activity occurred.

"The girl was having difficulty in dealing with things, and in talking with her parents, that's what came to light," Adam said.

The sexual activity was sporadic, he said.

Dewitt was booked into custody with bond set at $300,000.
