Pennsylvania Woman Accused of PTO Theft

(Canonsburg, Pennsylvania) A 37-year-old former treasurer in the Canon-McMillan School District, April John, has been arrested for theft.

John, 37, is accused of stealing more than $4,000 from the Parent Teacher Organization fund at Borland Manor Elementary School. Police said the cash was meant for children’s programs.

Investigators said they were alerted to the alleged thefts after John failed to deposit all of the money after a book fair.

The PTO is hoping that police and the court system can get the money returned.
