Carolina Teacher Accused of Indecent Liberties with Student

(Winston-Salem, North Carolina) A 24-year-old math teacher at North Forsyth High School, Alexandria Shanae Bennett, has been accused of taking indecent liberties with a male student.

Bennett faces two felony counts of indecent liberties with a student.

A staff member overheard students talking about a possible incident and reported it to administrators. Administrators then relayed the information to Winston-Salem police and an investigation was conducted.

Bennett was suspended without pay in late October after Superintendent Beverly Emory learned of the allegations. The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Board of Education approved Bennett’s dismissal on Tuesday.

Bennett was booked into custody with bond set at $5,000.
