New York Mom Accused of Child Assault

(Utica, New York) A 25-year-old local mother, Samantha Waller, has been accused of seriously assaulting her 3-year-old son.

Waller faces one count of assault in the first degree and six counts of assault in the second degree.
In mid-September, 25-year-old Samantha Waller brought her 3-year-old son to the hospital for a leg injury. An emergency room doctor became concerned when he found additional injuries including a spiral fracture on his leg, a lacerated liver, a fractured hip and a broken collarbone.

The doctor said there was a laceration on his face that left a permanent scar, and several scars on his back, which could have been caused by an electrical cord.
Details on booking are unavailable.

Thankfully... the child won't remember. And if he recovers, he will do okay, mostly. Unfortunately, the state doesn't have much better of a track record with children than this mother does. Organizations and charities are no better. While blood kin can be bad, no blood can be much worse.
