California Educator Gets Prison for Molesting Girls - Update

Andrea Michelle Cardosa

(Riverside, California)
In statements read during the sentencing hearing for their former teacher Monday, Feb. 9, two female sexual abuse victims wrote of how Andrea Michelle Cardosa betrayed their trust, leaving them with nightmares and a reluctance to trust other adults with their own young children.

Cardosa, 41, pleaded guilty last month to three of 16 charges against her related to having sex with two of her former students about 15 years ago.

In a plea agreement, she was sentenced by Riverside County Superior Court Judge Helios Hernandez to 10 years in state prison.

California Educator Accused of Molesting Girls
[Previous 2/4/14 post]
(Riverside, California) A 40-year-old educator formerly with Riverside County Schools, Andrea Michelle Cardosa, has been arrested for allegedly molesting two schoolgirls ten years ago.

Cardosa faces 16 counts of illegal sexual contact with a child.
The alleged abuse took place more than 10 years ago, but recently escalated into a public scandal when one of the reported victims posted a video online of herself confronting Cardosa over the phone.

The 28-year-old woman, who has identified herself as “Jamie,” says the abuse began when she was 12 years old and Cardosa was working as her basketball coach at Chemawa Middle School. The alleged molestation continued until Jamie graduated high school.

Jamie recently learned Cardosa was an assistant principal at Alhambra High School. She called the administrator at her office to confront her about the alleged abuse, recorded the conversation — unbeknownst to Cardosa — and posted the video to YouTube.
Cardosa was booked into custody with bond set at $5 million.

I'm honestly surprised "Jamie" wasn't the one arrested, for illegal wire tapping, "slander"(or such) (since the evidence was "fraudulently" obtained), and some other things. Then again, it isn't over. A lawyer for Cardosa, or the teacher's union, will probably try to get everything swept away and a return to full status, if maybe at a different school. Not sure they can 'gag' this enough to allow Cardosa to go back to work, but as powerful as the media, gov, and unions are now, it is possible.

I'm actually surprised YouTube hasn't been "pressured" into taking the evidence down. Yet. Like it takes much for YouTube to take down something "offensive" to the left.
