Alabama Teacher Guilty of False Insurance Claims

(Montgomery, Alabama) A 31-year-old teacher at Kingston Elementary School, Lashondra Moore, has been convicted of first-degree theft of more than $13,000 from an insurance company through false claims for cancer and neurological treatments.
Moore was sentenced to 32 months, which was suspended for five years probation. She also was ordered to pay full restitution to National Security Insurance Group.

The plea agreement called for Moore to pay $10,000 within a month, and she will be able to apply for the probation to be changed to three years, during which she will continue to make payments.
Moore has been told she would be fired from her teaching position.
