Texas Teacher Gets Deferred Sentence in Lap Dance Case - Update

A former teacher with Aldine ISD pleaded guilty Wednesday to having an inappropriate relationship with a student after giving a lap dance to a 15-year-old back in February.

Felicia Smith, 42, was sentenced to three years of deferred adjudication.

Smith claims her students convinced her to perform the dance in late February. Witnesses said it took place in front of a room full of students.

So, Smith gets to go home.

(Houston, Texas) A 42-year-old teacher at Stovall Middle School, Felicia Smith, has been accused of giving one of her students a birthday lap dance in front of the entire class.

According to the Aldine school district, the alleged incident took place February 26 at Stovall Middle School in the Houston area.

The male student said Smith took his journal and stopped his conversation as he walked into his third-period class that day. He sat at his desk as usual and when the bell rang, he said Smith put a chair in the front of the room and music started playing. He said the entire class began yelling and telling him to sit down.

It was his birthday.

He said he sat at the chair and Smith gave him a 'full contact' lap dance. He said she rotated her buttocks against him and he became aroused as she put her hands on his body. She also got on her knees and put her head between his legs, according to the student. He admitted to slapping her buttocks a few times. He said when she ended the dance, she hugged him and said “I love you, baby. Happy birthday." He said he gave her buttom another squeeze.

Nevertheless, Smith was booked into custody with bond set at $30,000.
