Tennessee Man Accused of Raping Girl, 7

(Gatlinburg, Tennessee) A Sevier County man, Ronald Freels, has been accused of sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl.

Freels faces two counts of rape of a child.

According to court documents, a 7-year-old girl told her mother that Ronald Freels, of Gatlinburg, sexually assaulted her. The victim was then interviewed by a counselor at Safe Harbor and an investigator with the Department of Children’s Services.

Authorities say the girl told them Freels sexually assaulted her on one occasion and raped her on another occasion over the Christmas break.

No court date has been scheduled.
