Michigan Woman Accused of Running Hooker Ring

(Washtenaw County, Michigan) A 30-year-old local woman, Amy Sawulski, has been accused of running a prostitution ring out of Ann Arbor motels.

Sawulski faces prostitution-related felonies.

Two women testified at a preliminary examination in April that they worked under Sawulski as prostitutes in 2010-2011, mostly at the Motel 6 on South State Street in Ann Arbor. The women testified they also went to people's homes for more money. The official complaint lists both the city of Ann Arbor and Ann Arbor Township as locations Sawulski operated.

Sawulski was the one who put the postings on the website and provided the women with rides, motel rooms and cellphones, they testified. The women also testified Sawulski took half of their earnings, which averaged to about $1,400 per day.

Sawulski is free on $25,000 bond.
