(York County, Pennsylvania) A 29-year-old female English teacher at Central York High School, Robin Winkis, was arraigned on five counts of corruption of minors for five alleged sex acts and one count of furnishing alcohol to a minor. The school district became aware of Winkis' alleged sex with a 17-year-old student last month, placed her on paid suspension, and notified the York City Police.
From The York Daily Record:
York Police Det. Dana Ward prepared the affidavit, which states Winkis kept in touch with the student through e-mails, instant messages and cell phone text messages. They had sexual intercourse four times in her apartment, according to the affidavit, and she once gave him "an alcoholic beverage" before sexual activity.Whoa! Drive-up service!
She drove to the boy's Manchester Township home once, had him sneak out and they "engaged in sexual contact" in her car, according to the affidavit.
Kidding aside, Winkis faces serious charges which carry up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. She's currently free on $10,000 bail.
It's noteworthy that Winkis is the second 29-year-old teacher in York recently charged with criminal sexual behavior with a student. Two weeks ago, Oxford Academy teacher Erica Rutters was charged with corruption of a minor for engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old special needs boy.
