Maine Teacher Skates on Sex Charge

(Portland, Maine) According to a previous report, 44-year-old science teacher at Morse High School, Deborah Lepkowski, was arrested on a charge of inappropriate sexual conduct between a teacher and a student. It was alleged that Lepkowski embraced a female student and licked her ears while at the teacher's home in January.

Earlier today in Cumberland County Superior Court, Lepkowski pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of disorderly conduct as part of a plea agreement which precludes the victim and her family from having to go through a jury trial. In accordance with the agreement, the court ruled that Lepkowski gets no jail and one year of counseling. If she meets all the conditions of the agreement, Lepkowski's case will be discharged without penalty.
