Soliciting Sex from Student Alleged

(Roan Mountain, Tennessee) A 36-year-old teacher's aide at Cloudland High School, Patty Jo Singleton, was indicted by a Carter County grand jury on Tuesday for soliciting sex from a 15-year-old student. Investigators said there currently is no evidence of sexual contact.

Singleton was suspended without pay from her teaching position pending the outcome of the investigation. The gender of the student was not disclosed.

Singleton was booked into the Carter County Jail and released on bail.
