(Wise, Virginia) A 26-year-old art teacher at Appalachia High School and Appalachia Primary School, Naomi Miranda Peters, has been arrested for allegedly engaging in an improper relationship with a female high school student.
Peters was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor as police continue to investigate.
According to Wise County Sheriff's Department Chief Investigator Mike Holbrook, Peters is also under investigation on more serious allegations involving another underage female student. It's alleged that Peters also told one girl to lie about the inappropriate relationship with the other girl.
Peters was booked and released on $5,000 unsecured bond. A June 27th court appearance has been scheduled.
