Convicted Rapist Lisa Clark Released from Prison

(Atlanta, Georgia) Convicted rapist Lisa Lynette Clark (aka Lisa Lynnette Clark), 40, was released from Metro State Prison last Friday after serving time for statutory rape and hindering apprehension of a child.

As a reminder, Clark was arrested in November 2005 for engaging in sex with a 15-year-old boy. Clark became pregnant by the sexual relationship and married the boy. The same month, Clark was indicted by Hall County grand jury on child molestation charges.

In February 2006, aided by Clark, the 15-year-old boy ran away from the group home he was assigned to as part of his probation on a burglary charge. The boy was ultimately apprehended in Ohio. For her involvement, Clark was charged with hindering apprehension of the boy.

On February 11, 2006, Clark gave birth to a son, Skye Cobain Gonzales.

In March 2006, Lisa Clark pleaded guilty to statutory rape and was sentenced to nine months in jail. She was also ordered to register as a sex offender.
In the meantime, Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue signed into law a bill which prohibits marriage of anyone under the age of 18 unless the approval of a parent is given.
In June 2006, Lisa Clark pleaded guilty to two counts of hindering the apprehension of a child and sentenced to two years in prison.

On February 22, 2008, Clark leaves prison. Interestingly, a tell-all book, Betrayed: The True Story of Lisa Lynette Clark, was released concurrently with her release from prison. Sales are reportedly brisk.

Speculation is that Clark and her now 17-year-old boy-husband will be getting back together. She's 40, he's 17, a combination that spells trouble, in my opinion. We'll see. Presumably, custody of now 2-year-old Skye Cobain Gonzales, who has been in foster care, will be returned to Clark.
