State-Owned Islamic Pawnshop Robbed

(Kota Baru, Malaysia) Four hooded thieves broke into the state-owned Ar-Rahn Islamic Pawnshop around midnight on Sunday by disconnecting the alarm system and boring a hole in the wall. They emptied 238 safe deposit boxes of gold ornaments reportedly worth millions.

A plea was issued at a press conference to return the loot "in the name of humanitarianism and Islam."

It's not known what makes a pawnshop Islamic.
