WV Woman Arrested for Child Abuse, Sex Assault Charges

(Point Pleasant, West Virginia) A 30-year-old Mason County woman, Ann M. Thacker, was arrested last Friday (8/15) for alleged child neglect and felony sexual abuse.

Thacker is charged with 2 counts of felony sexual abuse, 5 counts of child neglect causing bodily injury and one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (marijuana).

The sheriff says Thacker’s arrest was part of an extensive investigation. Investigators say the alleged crimes happened last week, and that the victims were juveniles ranging in age from 3 to 15. They say Thacker was related to three of the victims.

The sheriff says they also arrested 68-year-old James Thompson of Gallipolis Ferry as part of the same investigation.

Thompson was arrested Saturday and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (marijuana).

Both suspects were booked into custody at the Western Regional Jail.
