(Newark, Ohio) Yesterday, 50-year-old foster mother Marcina Samberson pleaded guilty to engaging in sex with her 16-year-old foster son. The sexual abuse occurred between July 17, 2009, and August 4, 2009.
Samberson received 15 months in prison for a conviction on one count of felony gross sexual imposition.
Common Pleas Court Judge Thomas Marcelain imposed the sentence and a sex-offender classification that will require the woman to register annually with authorities for the next 15 years. She had faced a maximum of five years in prison on the third-degree felony.Samberson was also fined $1,000 and she will be a Tier 1 sex offender. Her days of foster parenting are over.

(Newark, Ohio) A 49-year-old foster parent, Marcina S. Samberson, was arrested Monday for allegedly engaging in sex with her 16-year-old foster son. She faces a charge of third-degree felony sexual battery.
On Thursday, the Licking County Sheriff's Office received a call from Tuscarawas County Children's Services in reference to a 16-year-old who alleged he was sexually abused between July 17 and Aug. 4, according to a sheriff's office news release.Samberson posted $15,000 bond and was released. A grand jury will rule on the case next.
In a Monday interview, Samberson admitted to engaging in sexual conduct with the teenager, according to the affidavit.
