Indiana Woman Gets Prison for Molesting Boy, 12

(Muncie, Indiana) In October 2010, a 29-year-old local woman, Amber Nichole Beaty, was accused of engaging in sex with a 12-year-old boy she was babysitting.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the boy told police that Beaty molested him twice, first when she was baby-sitting for him and other children last July and again in August when he was left in her care overnight.

Beaty in April entered into an agreement with prosecutors that called for her to plead guilty to one of three molesting charges pending against her.

Consequently, Beaty was sentenced yesterday by Delaware Circuit Court 1 Judge Marianne Vorhees to 10 years in prison.

The judge also ruled that Beaty be classified as a sexually violent predator, required to register as a sex offender for the rest of her life.
