Pennsylvania Woman Sentenced for Sex with Boy - Update

(York, Pennsylvania) Yesterday, 35-year-old Mikki Yvonne Phillips cried as she was sentenced to nine to 23 months in the York County Prison for sexually assaulting a teenage boy.

Phillips pleaded guilty in February to first-degree statutory sexual assault. She has been in custody since her arrest in October 2013. Also:

She received a consecutive two years of probation for the statutory assault charge. Additional charges of indecent assault, corruption and unlawful contact with a minor were dismissed in the negotiated plea.

A sexual offender assessment determined that Phillips is not a sexually violent predator. Still, in accordance with Megan's Law, she must register with the Pennsylvania State Police as a sex offender.

Phillips will get credit for the 7 1/2 months she already has served in prison while awaiting prosecution, according to Judge Michael E. Bortner's sentencing ruling.

So, it appears that Phillips has only 45 days left to serve. How fortuitous, eh?

(York, Pennsylvania) A 34-year-old local woman, Mikki Yvonne Phillips, has been accused of engaging in sex with a teen boy.

Phillips faces counts of statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of a minor and indecent assault of a person less than 16.

Charging documents allege Phillips had sex twice with a boy in 2012 at her former homes at the Walnut Ridge apartment complex in Dallastown and at a home in the first block of North Main Street in Yoe.

The boy was 13 or 14 at the time of the alleged assaults, and Phillips was considered a friend of his family, according to Phillips' arrest affidavit, filed by York Area Regional Police Detective Donald Hopple Jr.

Phillips was booked into custody at the York County Prison with bail set at $50,000.
