Colorado Teacher Accused of Sex Assault on Boy

(Conejos, Colorado) A 30-year-old substitute teacher at Centauri High School, Cara Leann Holman, has been accused of sending inappropriate messages to a 17-year-old boy.

Holman faces a charge of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust.
The Conejos County Sheriff's Office says it began investigating Holman after receiving a report from Centauri Principal Curt Wilson that Holman had been sending inappropriate text messages to a 17-year-old boy.

Deputy Matt Hinkley was assigned to the case and said that during his investigation, he learned that Holman had been seen going to the 17-year-old's work place in Antonito and leaving with him during his lunch hour.

The deputy alleges that Holman had sex with the teen just outside of the Antonito town limits.

The sheriff's office says that Holman also sent numerous inappropriate text messages to the student.
Holman was booked into custody with bond set at $20,000.
