Georgia Teacher in Meth Lab Bust

(Haralson County, Georgia) A 29-year-old world history teacher at Bremen High School, Valerie Liz Parrish, has been arrested for operating a methamphetamine lab in her home.

"We had recently made buys from Miss Parish. She has been selling meth and, according to the interview, it was to help her boyfriend who was in jail get out," said Sheriff Eddie Mixon.

Investigators said they went to Parrish's home to serve a warrant on one of the guys they thought would be inside and when they opened the door they said they could smell a strong chemical odor.

"[Investigators] found the making of a meth lab in operation, a generator with a bottle and hose coming out with a fog substance coming from it," said Sherriff Mixon.

Notably, Parrish's father is a school board member and her mother is an administrator.

Woman Accused of Statutory Rape

(Sevierville, Tennessee) A 25-year-old North Carolina woman, Sarah Rebecca Villarreal, was arrested after surrendering to the Sevierville authorities on March 26 for allegedly engaging in sex with a 16-year-old boy.

Villarreal faces a charge of statutory rape.

According to SPD Detective Ray Brown, 25-year old Sarah Rebecca Villarreal of Winston Salem, NC allegedly engaged in sex with a 16-year-old boy in Sevierville on December 20, 2009.

The allegation was brought to the attention of the SPD by the victim’s father in February.

Villarreal was reportedly traveling with the boy from North Carolina to Virginia; the victim’s father was apparently aware of the travel plans.

Villarreal was booked into custody at the Sevier County Jail.

Ohio Woman Sentenced for Sex with Boy

(Norwalk, Ohio) A 19-year-old woman, Kendra N. Hoskins, has been sentenced by Huron County Common Pleas Judge Jim Conway for engaging in sex with a 13-year-old boy.

She will serve three months in the Huron County Jail, complete three years of probation, pay a $500 fine and register as a sex offender for 25 years.

Hoskins had sex with the boy Aug. 20 and had sent nude pictures of herself and several sexually-oriented messages to the boy’s cell phone, Huron County Prosecutor Russell Leffler said.

Hoskins was also prohibited from using the Internet for three years and she cannot possess a cell phone with photo capabilities.

Florida Woman Accused of Sex with Boy

(Avon Park, Florida) A 32-year-old local woman, Sandra Lee Holstone, was arrested Monday for allegedly engaging in sex with a 15-year-old boy. Holstone was charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious battery.

The juvenile gave a sworn taped statement Monday that at 4:30 a.m. the same day, he and the suspect had sex, according to the arrest report.

He also alleged that Holstone performed sex acts on him.

Interestingly, it appears that the boy scooted off to tell the cops right after the alleged episode. No indecision whatsoever. Quite the civic-minded young man, eh?

Holstone was booked into custody and released on $30,000 bond.

International Conference on Islam

From Maghreb News:

An international conference on Islam and rational sciences opened Monday (March 29th) in Algiers, El Khabar reported.

High Islamic Council (HCI) President Cheikh Bouamrane said that the 3-day symposium aims to respond to "questions posed by some intellectuals on the agreement between Islam and the spirit and contribution of this religion to universal civilization".

Offhand, I'd suggest that there are a lot of people curious about how Islam contributes to civilization.

Court Rules for Westboro Baptist

(Baltimore, Maryland) I don't understand anything. People act like completely heartless idiots and the court says they must be paid. Sheesh!

The father of a Marine killed in Iraq and whose funeral was picketed by anti-gay protesters from Kansas was ordered to pay the protesters' appeal costs, his lawyers said Monday.

On Friday, Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit ordered Albert Snyder to pay $16,510 to Fred Phelps. Phelps is the leader of Topeka's Westboro Baptist Church, which conducted protests at Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder's funeral in 2006.

The details of the court's decision haven't been reported.

Meanwhile, the case has engendered considerable outrage from many people and I heard this morning that FoxNews' Bill O'Reilly said last night that he would cover the costs of the court's inexplicable decision.

Utah Woman Gets Prison for Sex with Boy - Updated

(Farmington, Utah) Thirty-four-year-old Tabitha S. Ash appeared in 2nd District Court yesterday for sentencing. She had previously pleaded guilty to felony unlawful sexual activity with a minor.

Police arrested Ash after the boy told a friend and the friend told his mother about the sexual activity in October.

Police said Ash befriended the boy and forced him to have sex with her.

For engaging in sex with the 14-year-old neighbor boy, Judge David Connors sentenced Ash to five years in prison. She was also ordered to pay a $5,000 fine.

Utah Woman Accused of Sex with Boy

(Clearfield, Utah) A 34-year-old local woman, Tabitha Ash, was arrested yesterday for allegedly engaging in sex with a 14-year-old boy.

The boy's mother alerted the authorities.

"She is not a teacher," said Clearfield Assistant Police Chief Greg Krusi. "She moved into the neighborhood, befriended the family and took advantage of the child."

Krusi said the boy told a friend about the relationship. That friend then told the boy's mother, who called police Monday.

According to a news release, Ash "sent frequent text messages to the boy and had on a few occasions explained sexual positions she would like to experiment with him."

Ash has lived in the Clearfield area for several years and, Krusi said, the police are acquainted with her.

"We've dealt with her numerous times on other types of calls."

Krusi said investigators are concerned Ash may have had relationships with other teenage boys.

Ash was booked into custody at the Davis County Jail without bail.

Alabama Teacher Sentenced for Sex Crimes - Updated

(Decatur, Alabama) Last month, a jury found elementary school teacher Jessica Heather Defoor guilty of enticing a child and sex abuse. Earlier today, Defoor appeared in court for sentencing.

Attorney General Troy King announced Tuesday that Jessica Heather Defoor will serve two years in prison for the class C felony of enticing a child for sexual purposes. She will be subject to serving the remaining four years of her sentence in prison if she violates the terms of 5-years of supervised probation.

She was also sentenced to serve 12 months for the class A misdemeanor of second-degree sexual abuse, to be served concurrently.

Defoor's attorney said an appeal is planned.

Alabama Teacher Indicted for Sex Crimes - Updated
[Previous 8/3/09 post]
(Decatur, Alabama) Now 35, teacher Jessica Heather Defoor has been indicted for alleged sex crimes against a female student, 12 to 16 years old.

A Morgan County grand jury returned a two-count indictment on Defoor last month.

The first count charges that Defoor enticed a child under age 16 with lascivious intent to propose an act of sexual intercourse, sodomy or other sexual acts, in violation of Code of Alabama Section 13A-6-69.

The second count charges that Defoor committed second-degree sexual abuse by subjecting a child aged less than 16 years old and older than 12 to sexual contact, in violation of Section 13A-6-67.

Defoor was re-arrested this morning on the charges. No information has been reported regarding bail or future court appearances.

If convicted of the charges, Defoor faces a possible 10 years in prison for enticement and one year for sexual abuse.

Alabama Teacher Accused of Sexually Abusing Female Student

(Decatur, Alabama) A 34-year-old second-grade teacher at Danville-Neel Elementary School, Jessica Heather Defoor, was arrested Monday for allegedly engaging in inappropriate contact with a female student.

Defoor faces a charge of second-degree sexual abuse.

Decatur police spokesman Lt. Jonathan Green said Defoor, a 2nd grade teacher at Danville-Neel Elementary, was accused of having inappropriate contact with a female student in February 2006. He said the alleged incident wasn't reported by the victim and her mother until late 2007.

Defoor was booked into custody at the Morgan County Jail and later released on $500 bond. She has been placed on administrative leave (with pay) by the school system.

Grading the Government

For all Americans, think about this somewhat-dated Congressional Report Card:

The U.S. Post Service was established in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right and it is BROKE.

Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right and it is BROKE.

Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right and it is BROKE.

War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right; 1$ trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor". They want MORE.

Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right and they are BROKE.

Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right and it is BROKE.

The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal FAILURE.

Romania Buys American F-16s



F-16 Fighting Falcon
The Romanian government has been actively pursuing a deal to purchase fighter jets to replace its fleet of old and weathered Soviet-made MiG-21s. Competition for the contract has included Sweden with SAAB Gripen jets, France with Dassault Rafales jets, the European Union with Eurofighters (EADS, BAE Systems and Alenia/Finmeccanica) and the U.S. with second-hand F-16s.

Last week to the surprise of some, the Romanians decided to purchase 24 used F-16s as opposed to any brand-spanking-new European fighter jets. A crestfallen marketing director for SAAB said the deal is unfortunate because the Romanian Air Force may end up with "someone else's junk."

Presumably, and despite any behind-the-scene wheeling and dealing, a used American fighter jet is considered superior to any brand new product manufactured in Europe.

In any event, the Swedes are particularly puckered by the Romanian deal and it's been suggested that Sweden file a complaint with the World Trade Organization. At present, it's unclear whether the WTO recognizes sore-loser whining as the basis for a case. (Link)

NY Mom Busted for Marijuana with Kids in Car

(Colonie, New York) A 31-year-old Saratoga Springs woman, Missy L. Brewer, was arrested Sunday afternoon for allegedly smoking marijuana while driving with her four children in the car.

"It was a 911 call saying 'I spotted someone smoking pot, and she's got a car full of kids,'" Trooper Maureen Tuffey said. […]

Brewer was taken to the State Police barracks in Loudonville where she was charged under Leandra's Law for driving while ability impaired by drugs as a felony due to the presence of the children. She also was charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a child, one each for child.

She faces a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Brewer was booked into custody at the Albany County Jail without bail.

Germany's "Democratic Party" in the 1930s

In my various writings I am much indebted to readers who send me interesting links and, occasionally, interesting books. One regular and generous correspondent has just sent me a copy of a recent book: Living with Hitler: Liberal Democrats in the Third Reich.

To understand what the book is about, you need to know that the German electoral system both then and now is/was run on proportional representation lines. There was nothing like the "First past the post" voting system that prevails in most Anglo-Saxon countries. In other words, the number of seats in the legislature that a party gets reflects roughly the proportion of votes cast that the party got in the most recent election. This invariably leads to a parliament in which MANY parties are represented, unlike the two-party system of the USA. It is very rare for any one party to get a majority of the seats available and governments are therefore usually formed by alliances between different parties. Israel and most of Europe has such a system to this day.

And in interwar Germany, politics were dominated by various flavours of Leftism. There was very little support for much in the way of conservatism. And the parties could be ranked in their degree of Leftism -- from Communist, to Nazi, to Social Democrats to Liberal Democrats. The Social Democrats were equivalent to the Labor parties that one finds in the Anglosphere, strongly allied with the Labor unions, and the Liberal Democrats saw themselves as "progressives", quite similar to the Democrats in the USA today. And it is that latter group that the book concerns.

So how did the German "Democrats" go in Hitler's Germany? Did they furiously resist Nazism, as the rhetoric of modern-day Democrats would suggest? No way! Like the FDR Democrats in the America of the 1930s, they got along with Hitler to various degrees. There were a small number of highly principled ones who fled Germany but most did little more than mutter and got by quite well under Hitler. Some even made distinguished careers under Hitler. Most thought that Hitler was too rough and too extreme but they appreciated his basic Leftism and went along with him willingly.

Conventional history since the war has focused on the small number of German "Democrats" who fled Germany but this latest book shows that they were highly atypical. If you want the details, you will have to read the book. It is a large and comprehensive work so you will be left in no doubt at the end of it about how easily "Democrats" can drift into Fascism. With the passage of Obamacare, many American conservatives would say the the drift concerned is now well underway in the USA.

Teacher Student Sexting Case - Updated

(Woodbridge, New Jersey) Forty-five-year-old teacher formerly at Colonia High School, Karen Binder, appeared in court earlier today for sentencing.

For her guilty plea to charges of sending sexually explicit text messages to students, Binder was sentenced to three years of probation.

Binder was indicted in July 2007 on two counts of second-degree official misconduct for sending the students, ages 16 and 17, the text messages over a two-day period in February 2007.

She had previously taught the 16 year old at Iselin Middle School. Binder was arrested in March 2007, after one of the students told his parents about the messages and they called police.

Binder had been employed by Woodbridge Township schools since September 2000.

In court today, Middlesex County Assistant Prosecutor Sheree Pitchford urged the judge to bar Binder holding any public job, as required by law, and not just restrict her from holding teaching positions.

Binder, in court, expressed remorse for her actions.

Superior Court Judge Dennis Nieves also ordered Binder to surrender her teaching credentials and barred her from holding any public sector job.

Teacher Student Text Sex

(Woodbridge, New Jersey) A 42-year-old social studies teacher at Colonia High School, Karen Binder, was arrested last Tuesday for allegedly sending sexually explicit text messages to two male students, 16 and 17 years old. She is now on paid suspension from her teaching position.

Binder faces two counts of official misconduct and, if convicted, could be sentenced to 10 years in prison on each count. She was booked into the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick with bail set at $150,000.

Energy Star Scammed

The U.S. Energy Department and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency certify products as energy efficient in accordance with federal requirements.

Ostensibly, the consumer will benefit by purchasing items designated under the Energy Star Program.

Fifteen phony products — including a gasoline-powered alarm clock — won a label from the government certifying them as energy efficient in a test of the federal Energy Star program. Investigators concluded the program is “vulnerable to fraud and abuse.”

A report released Friday said government investigators tried to pass off 20 fake products as energy efficient and only two were rejected.

An official with the Energy Star Program is rumored to have said, "Oh s***! We gotta fix that."

"Don't Be a D***head" Ad Campaign

(Victoria, Australia) The authorities apparently believe that using profanity in an ad campaign is a better method to reach young people.

First they were bloody idiots, now drivers who fall foul of the law have been labelled d***heads.

But the minister charged with selling Victoria's latest road safety campaign dared not utter the profanity he thinks is appropriate for audiences online.

Launching a nine-clip advertising campaign that will be disseminated on the internet, Roads Minister Tim Pallas said it was important to connect with young drivers on their level.

The ads tell audiences "don't be a d***head" by not wearing a seatbelt, talking on the phone behind the wheel or committing other driving offences.

They will be planted on websites, social networking forums and blogs that attract young people.

"Yes, pejorative language is used in this ad and it, from my perspective, needs to be recognised as being appropriately used in circumstances where people's lives are put at risk," Mr Pallas said.

Opponents say the ad campaign is offensive.

Woman Gets Probation in Naked, Drunk-Driving Death

(Victoria, Australia) A 19-year-old woman, Jessica Maree Langford, appeared in court and was sentenced for driving naked and drunk and causing the death of her boyfriend, Daniel Andrew Glover, in November 2008.

Langford was sentenced to a "two-year community-based order" (how to say "probation" in Australian) by Judge Ross Howie.

Howie said he had been convinced not to lock up Langford due to evidence that Langford suffered a serious mental illness and the forgiving attitude of Daniel's mother, Cheryl Glover.

Ms Glover said Jessica had received a fair trial and she hoped people would give her "a fair go" in life.

"I know there is going to be a bit of controversy about not going to jail and mental illness but you have got to forgive ... unless you live it it is hard to understand," she told reporters outside court. […]

The pair, who had been a couple for six months, were described as "in love" and had been skinny dipping and drinking alcohol at Shoreham beach before the fatal crash at about 1.30am (AEDT).

They didn't put their clothes back on because they'd used them to dry themselves. Langford denied any sexual activity had taken place in the car.

The exact nature of Langford's illness was not disclosed in court but it existed before the accident and had prompted problems since, including suicide attempts and psychosis.

At the time of the accident, Langford was driving 104 km/hr in a 90 km/hr zone with a blood alcohol concentration of at least 0.098.

Arizona Rancher Murdered

(Douglas, Arizona) This is just one of a continuing flood of reports attesting to the fact that the US-Mexican border is a war zone.

The body of Rancher Rob Krentz and his dog were found shot to death on his ranch. Where was the government to protect our border and prevent this from happening, though they've been told time and time again? They didn't protect his property rights, nor his civil rights.

This country failed Robert Krentz, his family and all who work for him.

Coulter update



Leftist thugs shut down a talk by Ann Coulter at the University of Ottawa but she was not completely silenced in Canada

"Right-wing U.S. pundit Ann Coulter's comments to a Muslim student in London earlier this week were "distasteful" but don't qualify as hate speech, the Canadian Civil Liberties Association general counsel said Thursday.

"It is distasteful speech," Nathalie Des Rosiers said before speaking to The Windsor Star's editorial board. "It's appropriate to challenge her to say how inappropriate and silly an example it is, but it doesn't amount to hate speech."

Des Rosiers said hate speech in Canada is defined as a direct invitation to inflict violence and Coulter's comments didn't reach that level.

Coulter gained media attention this week for a speech at the University of Western Ontario where she declared that Muslims should be banned from flying on airplanes.

When a Muslim woman asked Coulter how she would be able to get around, Coulter repled that she could "take a camel."

Des Rosiers defended Coulter's right to free speech even if she doesn't support her views.

Coulter's comments caused a protest and the cancellation of her speech at the University of Ottawa Tuesday and increased security at a scheduled Thursday night speech at the University of Calgary.

Universities should pay for extra security so controversial speakers like Coulter can be heard, Des Rosiers said.

"On Tuesday night I was one of several hundred people who waited patiently in the Ottawa rain to hear what Ann Coulter had to say, but alas it was not to be. It was an interesting experience being called a racist bigot and other slurs by a cadre of unruly and rude students, whose education is subsidized by my tax dollars.

Then in yesterday's National Post, letter-writer Denise Cooke Browne asks the great unwashed not to "show up at [Ms. Coulter's] talks."

Contempt prior to investigation: Doesn't that constitute bias?
Ms. Cooke Browne also boasts of having been a former journalist and human rights investigator. It was fortunate I did not have to appear before her; I wouldn't have stood a chance.

Roadkill Drunk

(Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) Last Thursday, a 55-year-old man, David Wolfe, was arrested on stretch of highway northeast of Pittsburgh for being completely drunk in public. Witnesses reported seeing Mr. Wolfe attempt to give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to a long-dead possum killed on the highway.


Unable to revive
Obviously, a smashed Wolfe couldn't revive a mashed possum.

Trooper Jamie Levier said Wolfe was “extremely intoxicated” and “did have his mouth in the area of the animal’s mouth, I guess.”

Another witness observed Wolfe kneeling near the dead animal and gesturing as though he was conducting a seance.

I'd suggest that "roadkill drunk" is comparable to "coyote ugly drunk" with more crows and maggots.

Moscow Subway Terror

(Moscow, Russia) Two female suicide bombers detonated explosives on two packed Moscow metro trains this morning, killing and wounding scores of commuters.

At least 37 people were killed and 65 wounded on Monday when suicide bombers detonated explosives on two packed Moscow metro trains during the morning rush hour, the worst attack in the Russian capital in six years, officials said. […]

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the blasts but suspicion was likely to fall on groups from the North Caucasus, where the Kremlin is fighting a growing Islamist insurgency.

The first blast just before 8 a.m. tore through the second carriage of a train as it stood at the Lubyanka metro station, close to FSB headquarters. It killed at least 23 people.

Another blast about 40 minutes later wrecked the second carriage of a train waiting at the Park Kultury metro station, killing 14 more people.

"Two female terrorist suicide bombers carried out these bombings," Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov told reporters at Park Kultury metro station.

To the press, Moscow's Chief Prosecutor Yury Semin said, “There is no time to count the dead, only time to save the injured.”

No right to pray in a public park?

It should be realized that saving souls is an integral part of evangelical Christian beliefs and that some homosexuals have repented and changed their behavior with Christian help. So the preacher below was clearly exercising his religion, which the 1st Amendment says he is free to do

"A street preacher who intruded on an Elmira, New York gay pride event along with three others in 2007 has been arrested on disorderly conduct charges. Julian Raven had been fined $100 for refusing to obey police, who ordered him and several others out of a park where the pride event was taking place at the time.

He could have faced 15 days in jail for not paying the fine; reports say that he was sentenced to only nine days. Anti-gay religious conservatives agree with the preacher, who says that his constitutional rights to freedom of speech have been violated.

The case is on appeal and may be headed to the New York supreme court

Raven, and anti-gay Christians supportive of him, says that he has the right to pray in public even during an event that draws people who might take offense at the message.

Black rapper offends Buddhists

We read:

"Singer Akon has postponed his April concert in Sri Lanka after the island nation's government said they planned to deny his visa on Tuesday.

Their announcement followed a violent incident on Monday, when more than 200 protestors in the city of Colombo threw rocks at the offices of Capital Maharaja, Akon's concert promoters. Chevan Daniel, Maharaja broadcasting's head of news, told The Associated Press that the mob - some carrying signs that read "Stop Akon Now" -- broke windows and hit cars parked near the building. Four employees were reportedly injured.

The protestors were incited by Akon's video, "Sexy Chick," the #3 hit song he recorded for Dave Guetta's One Love album. The video features bikini-clad women dancing suggestively in front of a Buddha statue during a pool scene. The clip "triggered a lot of disappointment among Buddhists all over the world," a government spokesperson said in a statement.

Florida Woman Accused of Doing Boys

(Sarasota, Florida) A 36-year-old woman, Ellen Schmaling, has been arrested for allegedly engaging in sex with three underage boys she met while hanging around the skate park.

Schmaling has been charged with three counts each of sex with a minor between 12 and 15 and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Authorities were alerted by a parent who was concerned about inappropriate text messages her son was receiving.

Authorities went to the Sarasota skate park and spoke to employees there, who said a group of teenage boys was sexually involved with Schmaling. The employee provided the police officer with a list of names of those boys.

Three of the boys told authorities they had sex with Schmaling. They also said Schmaling had given them prescription drugs prior to having sex with them, as well as giving them money and gifts.

Interesting. As reported, it appears that the sexual relations were common knowledge at the skate park. In any event, Schmaling was booked into custody at the Sarasota County Jail with bond set at $90,000.

Teacher Accused of Being Drunk at School

(Riverside County, California) A 47-year-old teacher at Toro Canyon Middle School, Tonya Neff, was arrested this week for allegedly being intoxicated in class. She has been charged with willful cruelty to a child.

When deputies arrived at the school, Neff-- who's responsible for 100 students throughout the day-- was being treated by the school nurse.

Deputies discovered that Neff "had taken prescription drugs in conjunction with alcohol," Tapp said. "A container with an alcoholic beverage inside was seized during the incident."

Because of her "intoxication," the teacher was taken to John F. Kennedy hospital in Indio, from which she was later released.

Neff was booked into custody at the Indio Jail with bond set at $345,000.

Woman Accused of Molesting Her Baby

(St. Louis County, Missouri) A Ballwin MO woman, Tessa Vervlerah (aka Venvierah), has been arrested for allegedly engaging in sex acts with her 13-month-old child.

Vervlerah is accused of conspiring via the Internet with a California college educator, Kenneth Kyle, 47, who traveled to Missouri to commit the child sex crimes.

Vervlerah and Kyle face multiple charges including statutory rape and promotion of child pornography. Investigators believe the offenses have been occurring for several months.

Both Vervlerah and Kyle were booked into custody with bond set at $2 million each.

Robbery by Telephone

(Fairfield, Connecticut) A 27-year-old man, Albert Bailey, and a teenage accomplice were arrested for allegedly trying to rob a bank via call-in.

The call came in to the People's United Bank in Stratfield Center around 3:00 p.m. The caller stated that he was sending someone in and that the teller should hand over $100,000.

By the time one of the suspects walked into the bank, police were already on their way. As the suspect started to head towards a getaway car, where a 16-year old juvenile was waiting to drive off, police were able to block them in.

Sex Education for Children

(Copenhagen, Denmark) Here's a new twist in nanny-state initiatives.

With puberty ages continuing to decrease for girls and boys, Randers council in Jutland has decided that sex education should also begin earlier, starting in the 3rd grade with 9 and 10 year-old children.

Scientists have put forth various, sometimes conflicting, explanations for why the puberty age has been decreasing over the past few decades.

But Randers council believes teaching the body's physiological developments and the difference between boys and girls to young children is important at a time when girls are experiencing their first menstrual periods and boys' hormones are beginning to stir.

‘Overall, children are reaching puberty much earlier than before,’ Hanne Andreasen, one of the two nurses behind the initiative, told public broadcaster DR. ‘We’ve normally been teaching sex ed in the 4th and 5th classes, but those kids are already in puberty and they often find much of it difficult to accept.’ [...]

Teacher Elizabeth Dahl says that the children ask a lot of questions during the nurses’ visits, especially about sperm – of which she admits not all of them really understand the importance.

‘It looked like there were tadpoles that came from the men when they tried to make babies,’ said Peter Oliver Dam Kromann, one of the children at Munkholm School. ‘And then there was something on the ladies. I don’t know exactly what it’s called, but when they meet, then you get a little baby inside the woman's stomach.’

Frankly, I suggest teaching prepubescent kids about sex just encourages them to experiment at a younger age.

California Mom Gets Prison for Sex with Boy - Updated

(Santa Barbara, California) Married mother-of-three Genise Schu, 48, appeared in court this week and pleaded no contest to seven counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a person under 16 years of age and three counts of oral copulation with a person under 18.

According to the terms of the plea agreement, Schu was then sentenced to six years in prison.

According to the victim, one night seven years ago he was at the Schu residence when she showed him pornography while others were sleeping. The two began having conversations that were sexual in nature, and eventually she performed oral sex on the boy and they had sexual intercourse at least twice.

Since then the two had consensual sex hundreds of times during the relationship, according to a declaration from Santa Barbara police officer Corina Terrence. A probation report indicated the victim said Schu threatened to expose the relationship when he tried to end it, and that she would become angry when he would take an interest in girls at school. He indicated that he now understands that he had been controlled by Schu, who had access to his email, Facebook, and voicemail passwords.

Schu reports to start serving her sentence on April 12. She was also ordered to register as a sex offender for six years.

California Mom Arrested for Sex with Boy

(Santa Barbara, California) A 47-year-old married woman, Genise Schu, has been arrested for sexual misconduct with a 13-year-old boy -- her son's friend.

Schu faces counts of showing pornography to a minor, oral copulation of a minor under the age of 14, lewd act with a child under 14, sexual intercourse with a person under 18 years old, and oral copulation of a minor under the age of 18.

The relationship began when the alleged victim was 13 years old and would spend the night at the home of one of his classmates, her son. At some point, allegedly, she showed him pornography while others were sleeping, and eventually orally copulated the boy and had sexual intercourse at least twice.

Since then the two have allegedly had consensual sex hundreds of times during the relationship, according to a declaration from Santa Barbara police officer Corina Terrence.

According to Officer Terrence, Schu confessed to the sexual relationship.

Schu was booked and released on $100,000 bail. A court appearance is scheduled for August 25.

Mississippi Woman Accused of Statutory Rape

(Horn Lake, Mississippi) A 32-year-old local woman, Beverly Dee Bartlett, has been arrested for allegedly engaging in months-long sex with a 15-year-old boy. She faces a charge of statutory rape.

Lt. Scott Evans said that though the relationship appears to have been consensual - Mississippi's age of consent is 14 - state law prohibits anyone 17 or older from having sex with a child between 14 and 16 and at least 36 months younger than them.

Bartlett was booked into custody at the Desoto County Jail with bail set at $150,000.

Missouri Woman Guilty of Sex with Male Teens - Updated

(Joplin, Missouri) Forty-six-year-old Jana E. Carter has pleaded guilty in accordance with an agreement with the prosecution.

[Carter] changed her plea to guilty in Jasper County Circuit Court on a single count of second-degree statutory sodomy. She has been facing three counts of second-degree statutory sodomy and two counts of second-degree statutory rape concerning alleged acts with boys who were staying at the Scott Greening Dependency Center at 818 W. Fourth St. in Joplin, when she worked there in 2008.

The plea change was part of an agreement with the Jasper County prosecutor’s office that would dismiss the other counts and limit the prison time Carter might be required to serve at no more than five years.

No date was reported for sentencing.

Missouri Woman Accused of Sex with Male Teens

(Joplin, Missouri) A 45-year-old former supervisor at a teen substance-abuse residential center, Jana E. Carter, has been accused of engaging in sex with two teen boys.

Associate Circuit Judge Stephen Carlton has ordered Carter to stand trial on two counts of second-degree statutory rape and two counts of second-

degree statutory sodomy.

The charges pertain to two boys who were roommates in October 2008 at the Scott Greening Dependency

Center home at 818 W. Fourth St. At the time, the boys were 16 and 14.

The boys testified Thursday that Carter performed oral sex acts on them and had sexual intercourse with them in their room at bedtime.

The older boy told the court that he was living in the home when Carter first began working there. He said she exposed her breasts to him on several

occasions in various rooms in the house, including the kitchen and dining room. The sexual contact took place in the boys’ room at bedtime, he said.

Trial start is tentatively scheduled for April 20.

Where Is the Outrage When Black Conservative Tea Party Activists Are Called the N-Word?

Black conservatives opposed to government-run health care routinely are called the "n-word" and worse, says Deneen Borelli, full-time Fellow with the Project 21 black leadership network -- by liberals.

To black lawmakers allegedly receiving the same treatment, Borelli said: "Welcome to my world! I've been called worse than the N-word by alleged enlightened liberals for the outrage of expressing my views on topics such as the threat of government overreach on things such as ObamaCare, climate change legislation, the Second Amendment and pro-growth economics."

"It should go without saying that racial slurs are offensive and uncalled for," added Borelli. "But progressives seem far more aggressive in hurling racist comments than Tea Party members. I find that all the time on my e-mail after I appear on television or radio."

Responding to comments made by Representative Charlie Rangel (D-NY) about the racial aspects and alleged racial tone of Tea Party rallies opposed to a government takeover of America's health care system, Borelli said: "In an attempt to inject race into the national debate about government running our nation's health care system, Representative Charlie Rangel made false allegations about the Tea Parties when he said that '[y]ou don't see any black folks in these groups. Ever, ever, ever, ever, ever.' Considering he's never invited me -- or any of his conservative colleagues, for that matter -- for insight on reworking one-sixth of our economy, he obviously must not realize I am black. He also failed to see the other black faces I've seen at the many tea party rallies I've attended and spoken at over the past few months."

Missouri Woman Guilty of Sex with Boy - Updated

(Fulton, Missouri) Forty-eight-year-old Callaway County woman Melody R. Link appeared in court yesterday and pleaded guilty to one count of statutory rape. She admitted to engaging in sex with a 16-year-old boy an estimated 50 times.

According to court documents, the relationship included intercourse and oral sex and had occurred on a near-daily basis since August 2008 in a house rented by Link on Forest Avenue near Hickman High School.

The teenager told police Melody Link provided him and his friends with food, cigarettes, alcohol, marijuana and the capabilities to view adult movies, court documents said. When police interviewed witnesses, two of them said they saw Link and the 16-year-old having sexual intercourse at the Forest Avenue home.

Link faces a possible seven years in prison when sentenced. No sentencing date was reported.

Missouri Woman Accused of Sex with Boy

(Columbia, Missouri) A 47-year-old local woman, Melody Link, was arrested yesterday for allegedly engaging in sex with a 16-year-old boy.

Allegedly, Link has had an ongoing relationship with the boy since August 2008. Link has been charged with statutory rape and sodomy.

Link owns a home on Eagle Trace Dr. in the Eagle Knoll subdivision, however, she rented a house on Forest Avenue in Columbia - across from Hickman High School.

Police reports indicate that the teenager and Link engaged in intercourse and oral sex daily since August. Reports also note that Link provided the teen and his friends with food, cigarettes, alcohol and marijuana.

Columbia Police say they are looking into the possibility there are more victims.

Link was booked into the Boone County Jail and later released on $13,500 bond.

Teacher teaches aggressive kid an effective and appropriate lesson: Teacher gets fired

A PRIVATE school teacher in the US has been sacked after encouraging several students to punch a five-year-old boy in the face as punishment for hitting another student.

KPRC-TV in Houston reported that the incident happened when Davarius Williams, 5, and other children from the Robindell Private School took a field trip to a restaurant last week. Davarius punched a female classmate during an argument and the teacher supervising the trip told other students to hit him back, Devarius' mother, Barbara Mobley, said.

"The teacher that was driving his particular van got him and his group together and said, 'When we get on the van, I want everybody to punch Devarius in the face because he punched the little girl in the face,'" Ms Mobley said.

Ms Mobley claimed at least a dozen children hit her son. "As each child got on the bus, she said, 'Go,'" Ms Mobley said. "They punched my son and went and sat down."

School director Chuck Wall said that the teacher was fired within 30 minutes of the complaint. "It was a big mistake. She should have never done it," Mr Wall said. "It was a very, very good teacher that we fired. "She had been with me for six or seven years now ... (she) had a moment of weakness, out of frustration, and dealing with a child she's had a problem with over the last several months."

How To Be Stupid

(San Diego, California) This story is so stupid that it's believable.

A Southern California couple who bragged on the Dr. Phil show about making $100,000 by selling shoplifted toys on eBay was sentenced Monday to federal prison.

U.S. District Court Judge Irma Gonzalez sentenced Matthew Eaton, 34, to 27 months in prison, while his wife, Laura Eaton, 27, was sentenced to a year.

Both pleaded guilty to conspiracy to transport stolen property across state lines.

Matthew Eaton told the judge he regretted going on Dr. Phil.

“I hurt myself. I hurt my family,” he said. “I was shoplifting. I don't deny that at all.”

The couple was under investigation for shoplifting before the Dr. Phil appearance, but detectives did not suspect them of being large-scale thieves until they appeared on the show.

Utah Woman Gets Year for Sex with Girl - Updated

(Farmington, Utah) Yesterday, 37-year-old Kerrie Lyn Ferguson appeared in court to be sentenced for engaging in sex with a 15-year-old girl.

A judge in Farmington sentenced 37-year-old Kerrie Lyn Ferguson to 12 months in jail, but also ruled she will be eligible for work release after 90 days.

Ferguson will also be on 36 months probation.

Ferguson was arrested last year after Davis County sheriff's deputies caught her with the teen inside a car at a city park parking lot.

As part of a plea deal, prosecutors dropped two counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor.

So, a 37-year-old woman does same-sex jiggy-jiggy with a 15-year-old girl and gets one year in jail with work privileges. Compared to what a man would have received given the same circumstances, I suggest Ferguson should make sure the judge is on her Christmas list. She has been given a gift. (h/t Lame)

Utah Woman Caught with Girl

(Farmington, Utah) A 37-year-old area woman, Kerri Lynn Ferguson (aka Kerrie Lyn Ferguson), was arrested Sunday by a Davis County Sheriff's deputy who caught her "in the act" with a 15-year-old girl.

Ferguson faces four counts of forcible sexual abuse.

According to the probable cause statement, Ferguson had a sexual relationship with the 15-year-old girl from March until August.

According to the initial police report received by a Government Records Access Management Act request from the Davis County Attorney's Office, after the deputy found the two in the vehicle, he talked to the teenage girl first to find out what was going on.

She admitted to "other prior sexual incidents" with Ferguson, according to the police report.

The deputy then asked his supervisor to respond to the scene. After being read her Miranda rights, Ferguson agreed to talk to officers and admitted to the sexual contact.

Ferguson was booked into custody at the Davis County Jail and released Monday on $50,000 bond.

Children Massacred at Chinese School

(Fujian Province, China) This is a horribly sad report. Thoughts are with the families and friends.

Eight children were killed and five seriously wounded when a former doctor brandishing a knife attacked pupils as they stood outside the gates to their school in southeasterern China this morning.

Shouting “They won’t let me live, they are driving me mad. I won’t let anyone live”, the man grabbed at children waiting in line for the start of classes at the Nanping City Experimental Elementary School in Fujian province at 7.20am.

Within seconds the former doctor at a community clinic had stabbed to death eight children with a 10in (25cm) knife. Another five lay bleeding on the ground. Wounded children tried to crawl away and then fell as they tried to escape.

One woman had just dropped her son off at school and barely had time to turn round before he had been slashed to death by the attacker.

The attacker, 42-year-old Wu, was finally wrestled to the ground. Reportedly, he has a history of mental illness.

Police Threatened by Booby-Traps

(Hemet, California) Local police are being threatened and targeted with booby-traps set allegedly by the Vagos motorcycle gang, California's largest.

According to Hemet Police Chief Richard Dana:

First, a natural gas pipe was shoved through a hole drilled into the roof of the gang enforcement unit's headquarters. The building filled with flammable vapor, but an officer smelled the danger before anyone was hurt.

Gang enforcement officers appear to be the target of the assassination attempts, though Dana noted the devices were indiscriminate by nature.

About 30 members of the Vagos gang were arrested this week for methamphetamine sales, identity theft and violence in a sweep through California and neighboring states.

Meanwhile, a reward of $200,000 has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those individuals responsible for setting the booby-traps.

Head Teacher Wins in Muslim Pressure Case

(Surrey County, England) Influential Muslims put unrelenting pressure and demands on a school headmistress resulting in her suffering health problems. Courts have now ruled that the county council should pay for neglecting to intervene and protect her.

A headmistress forced from her job after a campaign by two Muslim governors to give Islam a greater presence in a state school is entitled to £400,000 damages, the Court of Appeal has ruled.

Erica Connor, 57, left the New Monument primary school in Woking, Surrey, because of stress after she was accused of Islamophobia.

A deputy High Court judge ruled in March last year that Surrey County Council had failed in its duty to protect her and to intervene when the actions of the governors created problems. He awarded her £407,700 damages.

The council had appealed against the ruling, claiming it was not liable in law and had not acted negligently in dealing with the problem.

Lord Justice Laws, giving a ruling on Thursday, said that Mrs Connor, who was promoted to head of the school in 1998, had suffered psychiatric damage and had to stop work in 2005 and retired a year later on ill-health grounds.

Lord Justice Sedley wrapped the case by stating that the Surrey County Council had erred by trying to compromise with the Muslim activists instead of protecting the school, its secular curricula, its staff and the headmistress.

“The picture that emerges from the careful and thorough [High Court] judgment is of a local education authority which had allowed itself to be intimidated by an aggressively conducted campaign to subvert the school’s legal status, a campaign which was plainly destabilising the school and placing the headteacher under intolerable pressure.”

I suggest the ruling was largely appropriate but it failed to point attention to the underlying impetus for the lawsuit -- Muslim ideologues applying harassing pressure on the public education system.

When You Gotta Go

(Delano, California) A substitute teacher at Cesar E. Chavez High School, Matthew Davis, 58, was arrested yesterday for allegedly urinating in a cup in the corner of a crowded classroom.

The students freaked out. "OMG! OMG! O-M-G!!!" Davis has been charged with indecent exposure, lewd and lascivious acts and child endangerment.

Davis was booked into custody with bond set at $1,050,000.

The class subject was consumer math which I suspect is spin for simple arithmetic.

Must not mention testicles in beer ad

Australia:

"Foster's has pulled an advertising campaign that it admitted was too risque for TV just days after it released it online. The series of seven ads for Carlton Draught, which make reference to "man plums" and "goolies", were put on the internet last Wednesday.

The company aborted a TV campaign in late February days before it was due to go to air, after senior executives in the listed alcohol manufacturer got cold feet about the ads. The company then decided that having spent the best part of the $200,000 in fees and production, it felt compelled to release it on the internet in the hope that somehow only its target market of 18- to 30-year-old men would see it.

That strategy appears to have failed and in the past few days, as the ad got more talked about and viewed on the internet - normally something that every marketer craves - Foster's management pulled the plug, fearing a public relations backlash.

"Goolies" is actually Scottish slang. It is very rare for Australians to call them anything but "balls". Video at link. Americans often seem to deal with a similar sensitivity by using a Spanish word: "cojones". For some reason, using the Spanish word seems quite respectable. "Cojones" is not listed in my Spanish dictionary so I gather that it is a slang term too. Spanish slang is OK, apparently. All very strange.

Florida Teacher Accused of Drink, Drug and Fleeing Charges

(Largo, Florida) A 55-year-old art teacher at Southern Oak Elementary School, Luann Fernandez, was arrested last week for allegedly driving drunk, fleeing the police and possession of marijuana.

According to the spokesman, the sheriff's office got a tip that a woman who might be impaired was leaving a restaurant. Deputies, using their lights and siren, tried to pull her over but the woman accelerated and wouldn't stop.

After deputies caught up with her at her residence, Fernandez performed a field sobriety test and soon after Fernandez was arrested. The marijuana was found during the investigation, the spokesman said.

Fernandez was booked into custody at the Orient Road County Jail and released on $3,000 bond.

Pennsylvania Woman and Boy From New York City

(Lehighton, Pennsylvania) A 28-year-old local woman, Amy Steigerwalt, has been accused of engaging in sex with a 15-year-old boy.

Amy Steigerwalt was charged in connection with incidents between March 10 and 13 in the Gypsy Hill Gardens apartments, state police at Lehighton said. The boy is from New York City, police said.

Steigerwalt was charged this week with statutory sexual assault and indecent assault against someone under 16.

Proud to help -- and to fly our flag

The United States has brought millions of dollars and many tons of aid to Haiti, but one thing we brought is not welcome: the American flag. For awhile, it flew over the compound where the Joint Task Force Haiti was operating, but no more. Apparently, Haitian Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive thought it implied a U.S. occupation, and so, in a pitiful example of political correctness, it was lowered. This is even more ironic given that the French contingent proudly flies its flag and France held Haiti as a colony until a bloody revolution.

If the Haitian prime minister is unhappy with having the U.S. flag on his soil, we certainly can remove it. We can fold it nicely and place it in one of those giant containers full of food and medical supplies we brought, take one of the many pieces of construction equipment we brought, load it on one of the many planes and ships full of more of the same, and take them all back to the United States.

The prime minister should be so lucky as to have the United States occupy Haiti. Perhaps then his citizens could enjoy security and prosperity that he couldn't deliver even before the earthquake. Haiti consistently has been the worst place to live in the entire Western Hemisphere. But we are not there to occupy the country; we are simply doing what we always do. When the world dials 911, the phone is answered at the Pentagon. We may or may not be the world's policeman, but we certainly are its first responders.

Whenever a disaster occurs, man-made or natural, the U.S. military is the only force on Earth that can and does respond. No matter where, no matter who. When I served in Army Special Forces, we regularly came to help when tropical cyclones, typhoons and even the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines left people in need of humanitarian aid. We always showed the American flag, as it is a signal of security and safety in times of crisis. It also enabled those we helped to know who brought them relief. Surprisingly, instead of wondering whether we were there to occupy them, most people were smart enough to understand we were there to save their lives.

The idea that we have a reason to be ashamed or something to hide for doing this is disgraceful. It is one thing to be cognizant of the feelings of other countries. It is quite another to act as if the American flag is something other than a shining beacon of freedom and safety. Sadly, this is just another example of the current administration's feeling that America has more reasons to apologize than to be proud. The U.S. military does more humanitarian work around the world than anyone, and we should be flying our flag proudly over those operations.

Berlin Poker Heist Planned by Arabs

(Berlin, Germany) All four of the masked and armed robbery suspects in the big-bucks poker tournament heist of March 6th have been arrested. A rival gang reportedly provided leads.

The suspects, all young, have been identified as Mustafa Ucarkus, 20, Jihad Chetwie, 19, Ahmad el-Awayti and a man known only as "Mohammed B."

The location of the €242,000 stolen during the high-stakes poker game at Berlin’s Grand Hyatt Hotel is still unclear, but there is now speculation that the four robbers did not plan the heist themselves, according to a report published Sunday by the Berliner Morgenpost.

The newspaper reported that an Arab family known to police masterminded the crime. Two members of the family reportedly stayed at the Grand Hyatt hotel shortly before the heist and were recorded on surveillance footage, though police refused to comment.

It appears there is little dispute that the heist was an organized crime operation. Now the Germans need to find out which Arab group is running the show. I'd suspect an Islamist connection, especially since one of the alleged robbers is named Jihad.

When Counseling Fails

(Seattle, Washington) Sometimes things just don't work out.

Charles Parsons wanted to reconcile with his ex-wife, Carol.

And when she refused, Parsons shot her five times during a counseling session at a Federal Way Lutheran church, according to court documents released Friday. He was charged Friday with first-degree murder/domestic violence.

Parsons walked outside after leaving his ex-wife to die, put his .45-caliber pistol on the hood of his trunk and called 911, saying he had "shot (his) wife in a counseling session in a fit of rage," authorities said.

Then the 41-year-old Lakewood man lay his 6-foot- 3 inch, 365-pound frame on the ground to wait for police.

Despite the counseling, wife Carol Parsons, 38, wanted to continue seeing her boyfriend. I'm thinking that scheduling counseling sessions when the differences are irreconcilable is probably a bad idea.

(Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) Some people have all the fun.

Police said a man broke into a Pittsburgh home and climbed into bed with its owner, apparently because he was drunk and cold following a rap concert.

Homeowner Frank Fontana says he was in bed when the man climbed in about 5:30 Wednesday morning. Fontana says he asked whether it was a woman who has keys to his home — and he grabbed a baseball bat when a deep male voice answered, "No, it's not."

Police said Fontana kept the man at bay until police arrived but didn't hit him with the bat.

The interloper faces charges of criminal mischief and criminal trespass.

Woman Gets Prison in Child Sex Case

(Chicago, Illinois) A 35-year-old Mundelein woman, Molly Jensen aka Molly Phillips, pleaded guilty to attempted predatory criminal sex assault against a boy when he was three years old. As a result, she was sentenced to five years in prison.

Jensen claimed she was manipulated and domineered by her co-defendant, Joseph Summers, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the reported sadomasochistic sex crimes against the child.

Their victim read a statement at Jensen's sentencing hearing in which he expressed anger and disappointment at her treatment of him. He is said to have been about three years old at the time of the abuse.

As a result of the sexual and physical abuse he endured as a small child, the victim testified he had difficulty trusting his parents and that he has a hard time respecting women. The victim, now 13, spoke of enduring abuse from an adult in a position of trust and authority.

"I think it's sick that Molly wanted to do the things she did," he said. He also said he believed he had difficulty respecting women because he was forced to watch Summers beat Jensen, who in turn beat him as a child.

"I wish I was never abused. She hurt me and ruined my life," the victim said.

The defense called witnesses who claimed that Jensen suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and that she is remorseful. Jensen said "she would do anything she could to correct the wrong she committed."

Powerline posts a keen insight on how Great Britain's present, may become our future:

Once the federal government becomes so deeply involved in allocating health care, it will come to be a dominant focus of political discourse.

Over the years watching on C-Span the British Prime Minister's Question Time, I've observed that a large portion of this exercise is devoted to specific questions about the quality care provided by The National Health Service in members' districts. A question on the terrorists threats to the UK will invariably be followed by a passionate query from a Member asking the PM if he's aware of nurses being re-assigned at a hospital in Sheffield. The PM seems to spend as much time on parochial health care issues as on national security.

The politics of deciding who gets what in the way of medical treatment doubtlessly will push aside traditional affairs of state. Every member of Congress will need to hire several staff members just to manage constituents' complaints about their care. Elections will be won and lost on the basis of who can get the most in the way of health care for their districts.

We will become the Gulliver of nations, a great power whose leaders are tied up in strings as they spend much of their time addressing the medical complaints, valid and imagined, of their electorate.

We *will* become the Gulliver of nations. And it will not just be due to healthcare. The more our Federal government becomes so deeply involved in the regulation of anything and everything (education, the environment, banking, retirement, fishing, car manufacturing....etc), the more we tie ourselves down. The more the Liliputians UN bureaucrats will take advantage of us. The more we will make ourselves irrelevant.

Utah Teacher Gets Jail for Buying Sex from Boy - Updated

(Helper, Utah) Former Helper Junior High School teacher Melissa Ann Andreini, now 29, appeared in court this week and pleaded guilty to reduced charges. She pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful sexual activity with a minor while two counts were dismissed.

As a result, 7th District Judge Douglas Thomas sentenced Andreini to probation and 120 days in jail followed by 120 days home confinement.

Andreini must complete sex-offender treatment, have no contact with minors and pay restitution for the victim's counseling as part of her 36-month probation.

She also must submit to DNA testing and will be listed on the state's Sex Offender Registry.

I suggest a male teacher would have received harsher punishment.

Utah Teacher Allegedly Paid Boy for Sex

(Helper, Utah) A 28-year-old special education teacher formerly at Helper Junior High School, Melissa Ann Andreini, was charged this week with engaging in sex with a 15-year-old male student.

Andreini faces three counts of third-degree felony unlawful sexual activity with a minor.

The boy told police Andreini used to bring him and his friends coffee two to three times a week before school started. The boys went to Andreini's classroom to get the drinks, according to the statement.

The victim reported to police that Andreini paid him money after three separate sexual episodes at her home in June.

Court documents do not specify if the money exchanged was for sex or to keep the boy quiet about the encounters. The victim's mother told police Andreini admitted to paying the boy between $1,400 and $1,500 when the mother confronted Andreini on July 3, according to the statement.

On August 3, Andreini resigned from her teaching position. She was booked into custody at the Carbon County Jail and later released on $10,000 bond. A court appearance is scheduled for September 28.

If convicted, Andreini faces a possible five-year prison term on each count.

Mom Accused of Murdering Son, 2

(Rehoboth, Massachusetts) A 38-year-old local woman, Kim Peno, has been accused of beating her two-year-old son, Timothy, to death.

According to police, the toddler's father brought the boy into Seekonk Police Headquarters around 12:15 a.m. Thursday, looking for help for his badly injured son.

Peno was originally charged with assault and battery of a child causing substantial injury but then the boy died on Friday. Consequently, she now faces a charge of murder.

Peno is being held without bond. Her arraignment is scheduled for Monday in Taunton District Court.

Curiously, no explanation is provided regarding why the father took the boy to the police station instead of the hospital. It doesn't make sense.

Heh! Fired teacher hangs Obama effigy in classroom

Amusing to see how the authorities deal with that. Nooses regularly produce great convulsions so this should produce a real riot. But will it? Teachers are generally Left-leaning so I expect this guy will be in a protected class

"A teacher at a failing Rhode Island school where he and all his colleagues were fired hung an effigy of President Barack Obama in his classroom, apparently in reaction to Obama’s support of extreme measures to ensure accountability in schools.

The teachers union on Thursday condemned the effigy, discovered Monday in the teacher’s third-floor classroom at Central Falls High School, saying it was wrong and cannot be condoned under any circumstances.

The effigy was found in the unidentified teacher’s classroom by Superintendent Frances Gallo, Nicole Shaffer of the Rhode Island Department of Education told The Associated Press. Shaffer said the department would not have any further comment.”

Husband Collared for Pimping Wife on Craigslist

This report is disgusting.

A Minnesota man has been busted in Chicago for pimping out his wife via craigslist — and allegedly threatened to hurt their 3-year-old daughter if she didn't obey.

Clinton Danner, 32, was charged with pandering after he traveled to the Windy City in order to allegedly punish his wife for failing to keep her sexual appointments, which authorities claim he arranged. [...]

Danner allegedly used craigslist to book clients in eight different states, including New York, Florida and Georgia, as well as Washington, D.C.

He would travel with her and their 3-year-old girl, living in a minivan, while the woman engaged in sex for money, officials said.

The wife eventually contacted the authorities who arrested Danner. He was booked into custody with bail set at $150,000.

Man Parts Surgery Oops

(London, England) A British NHS surgical and/or administrative error has left a man without the ability to procreate. The wrong testicular part was trimmed.

Doctors were supposed to cut away the patient's right epididymis - one of two narrow tubes connected to the testes which is used to store mature sperm.

But the patient's left epididymis was removed by mistake at the West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds.

Surgeons had to operate on his again to take out his other epididymis after the blunder was discovered and the man was left infertile.

Officials at the NHS hospital have refused to identify the man or confirm if he was paid compensation.

A major investigation was launched into the error and the hospital has now introduced more stringent procedures to stop it happening again.

Plans are to implement a policy of marking and verifying the sites to cut.

NY Teacher Accused of Sex Assault of Girl, 14

(Albany, New York) A 38-year-old special education teacher at Thomas O'Brien Academy of Science and Technology,
Wendy Daignault, has been accused of inappropriately touching a 14-year-old girl in July 2009.

Daignault has been charged with third-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of child.

Captain Curtis Cox said the investigation began after the girl's parents notified police.

Daignault, of Vaughn Drive in Guilderland, has worked at the school district since September 1998, but Cox said the child was not a student of Daignault's. He said he did not believe the incident was at all related to her work at the school -- a point stressed by the district.

"We have been assured by the police investigating that none of the allegations against her in any way involve her professional life at school or any of her students," said Ron Lesko, a spokesman for the City School District of Albany.

A court appearance is scheduled for next week.
